In a bid to guarantee greater success in the Nigerian entertainment industry, the Nigerian Film Corporation (NFC) and the SMEDAN have signed a MoU on entrepreneurship.

Speaking during the signing ceremony which took place at the SMEDAN head office in Abuja, the Managing Director of the NFC, Mr. Afolabi Adesanya, said that for the film industry to make meaningful contribution to the overall economic contribution to the overall economic development of the country, emphasis must be placed on impacting entrepreneurial skills in the sector.

Mr. Adesanya noted that if the business potentials of films are fully harnessed and adequately developed, the industry could become one of the highest revenue generating sectors of the economy as achieved in California, USA.

He, however, said SMEDAN was ready to support NFC with funding windows available on Nigerian entrepreneurs such as SME Credit Guarantee Scheme introduced by the Central Bank of Nigeria and the funding scheme of the National Economic Reconstruction Fund (NERFUND).
